Cross Dressing Maid Cafe/Bar “NewType” Opens in Akihabara
December 2nd, 2009

On Dec 3 2009, NewType moved and reopened in Akihabara, Japan.
NEWTYPE Waiters

Yup, the maids you see here are “guys”. It’s a cafe/bar, so you won’t be able to do any crazy things. Get some drinks and talk with your favorite guy maid.

It costs you 1,300 yen for admission which comes with a free drink. They’ve got a good selection of alcohol at around 700yen, and food, ranging from 390 to 780 yen. They don’t charge for the time you stay.

For every visit with a surcharge of 2,000 yen or more, you get one stamp. With every ten stamps on the membership card, you can choose to rank up, or get some special gift. Though, your first ten stamps can only be used for ranking up. Every time you advance in the rank, your admission fee, or “charge” as they say, will cost less and less.

They are planning to create a makeup booth that the customers can use for free.

If you ever come to Akihabara, this might be one of the places you wanna stop by.

Are anime characters caucasian or japanese

try googling Do anime characters look caucasian and you’d be surprised how many hits you get. Some people consider it a serious enough issue that they write formal academic papers on it

how about you? Do you think that they look japanese or caucasian?

it’s a bit fast. Just pause it from time to time so you can read the subtitles

========================
I’m not arguing that the characters are definitely japanese and definitely not white as most characters are ambigious enough to be interpreted as any race

It may seem like i’m overanalyzing anime but this is actually a response to those who are overanalyzing anime.

like these people:

Basically some people think that the japanese have a warped self image and they base this conclusion on the fact that anime characters look caucasian to them.

In this video, i argue that the characters may not necessarily look white to everybody and so any conclusion based on the fact that they look caucasian is poorly grounded.

also, I said that asians are good at cosplay but i never said that white people are bad at cosplay.

I think i made an irresponsible generalization as well when i said that whites living in japan experience racism. It would probably be more appropriate to say that they get no special treatment. I edited the video already
